.b Foundations for school staff

.b Foundations introductions and courses for school staff.

Providing mindfulness training for school staff is an investment in their health and wellbeing; helping them take care of themselves and build resilience. Developing a mindfulness practice can have positive results for staff and their pupils. Research evidence suggests that mindfulness may help reduce stress, anxiety and burnout in teachers and improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing. Initial studies also suggest it has the potential to improve performance and relationships.

.b Foundations is an 8-week training for teachers and other staff who wish to learn the foundations of mindfulness. The course has been designed for adults working in schools, based on the core principles found within Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).

The .b Foundations training sessions are shorter, as are the recommended home practices, with the intention that they are accessible, yet still effective, for busy staff working in education.

The 90 minute taster session offers an introduction to the theory and practice of mindfulness and is a great way to learn more and gauge interest before committing to an 8-week course.

Introductions and courses can also be offered to parents.
